In a Maiden related angle, Bruce Dickinson covered Black Night on the B side of “Dive, Dive, Dive” in 1990. Iron Maiden's Live After Death DVD will be released on the 5th as well.

DVD Cover for Santana: In Concert DVDNew this month on DVD is the creatively named Santana: In Concert two disc set. The set features just under two hours of high-energy music from Carlos Santa's performance at the Lorely Festival in Germany from 1998.

In addition to Santana on guitar, percussion and vocals, the lineup includes: Chester Thompson, keyboards and vocals; Karl Perazzo, percussion and vocals; Paul Rekow, percussion, congas and vocals; Rodney Holmes, drums; Benny Rietveld, bass; and Tony Lindsay, lead vocals. There's also a guest appearance by the Dave Matthews Band to round things out.

Please note that there are some negative reviews of the sound and video quality on Amazon UK, so buyer beware. This one may be for completists.

Queen: Rock Montreal and Live Aid DVD

Posted Tue, December 11, 2007 at 2:59 am by Todd Levy

DVD Cover for Queen: Rock Montreal and Live Aid DVDQueen: Rock Montreal & Live Aid DVD is a two disc set featuring some remarkable Queen performances from Montreal in 1981 and Live Aid in 1985.

The 1st disc features footage from two nights at the Montreal Forum in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on November 24 and 25, 1981. This was about ten years before the death of lead singer Freddie Mercury. A commentary track features guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor.

Disc 2 includes Queen's classic performance at Live Aid in 1995 plus rehearsals and behind the scenes footage. There's also a 1982 U.S. television interview.

Though both shows are previously released on DVD under different names, high quality audio and some bonus material make this a nice option for completists and those who don't own the originals. You can even appreciate the sound quality on the short sample video on Amazon.

And for you videophiles, the set is also available on Blu-ray and HD DVD.
