Audiosurf: An Amazing Music Video Game
If you like music, puzzles, and video games, you're sure to love Audiosurf (Demo | Buy | Videos). It's an addicting music video game that's one part Guitar Hero, one part SameGame, and all parts awesome. Plus it's only $10!
To get started, you choose ANY song off your hard drive. Really, any song. Phish, Portishead, Prince, whatever. Audiosurf then analyzes the song and creates a custom level for you to play.
The shape of the track, speed, and mood of the game are all determined by the sonic qualities of the song. Depending on which song you pick, the game can be chilled-out cruiser or a psychedelic rocket-ride.
A game that almost anyone with a love of music will enjoy.

As you slide down the track, colored blocks appear in sync with the beat. You earn points for jumping from lane to lane trying to grab some blocks and avoid others to get the highest scoring combos. As they say, easy to learn, difficult to master.
With three difficulty levels and 14 different vehicles — each with their own strategy and special powers — there's enough replay value to keep you busy for hours. Especially considering you can use pretty much any music you have on your computer (MP3, iTunes M4A, WMA, CD, OGG) to create a custom track.
Not only that, Audiosurf takes it to the next level with online scoreboards (powered by Steam) that let you compete for high scores on your favorite songs, and even compare your score to players that live near you.
Let the games begin!
