I decided to keep the TLG flowing and figure since I'm seeing Reed for the first time tonight I'd reminisce by sharing a great Ben Chambers moment.

The whole band is great on this Harvest Time, but the real magic starts about 3 minutes in. Ben realizes he's on camera, gives a little smirk, and then lays down some face-melting dance moves like the neck-breaker, the waist-waster, and rubber-legs. It's a quintessential Milkey moment.

This video would be even better if there weren't some Focker pumping his fists in front of the camera the whole tune :^)

Enjoy the video. I'm off to the Park West! Don't miss the webcast if you can't make the show. And if you've got a favorite Ben Cambers moment please share it below.

Here's a nice Precious Stone from Tea Leaf Green who I'm psyched to say I'm seeing tonight for the first time in quite a while.

Holy shit........I bet Josh had a cigarette and a nap after this one!

For some reason I'd missed this moist-maker on YouTube before so thanks to Bexy for mentioning it on the Tea Leaf Green forum.

Party with a Purpose at the 2008 ROTHBURY Festival

Posted Thu, February 14, 2008 at 1:46 am by Todd Levy
Sorry. You need to Flash to see this widget.

Organizers of the inaugural ROTHBURY Music Festival at the Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, Michigan announced their lineup yesterday and it's quite impressive in both diversity and stature.

Among the over 70 bands confirmed to appear on 8 stages are Widespread Panic, Dave Matthews Band, Phil Lesh and Friends, John Mayer, 311, Modest Mouse, Primus, Snoop Dogg, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Thievery Corporation, STS9 and many more.

The events “purpose,” in case you were curious, is to “harness the unique energy of the live music community into a durable social movement” addressing climate change and clean energy alternatives. To that end, the festival will also include a Think Tank and Energy Fair.

The ROTHBURY Think Tank, curated by Stanford climatologist Dr. Stephen H. Schneider, will feature sessions and roundtables between leading scientists, scholars, writers, progressive political and corporate leaders, youth leaders, and entertainers.

ROTHBURY’s Energy Fair will let attendees get their hands on with cutting edge, sustainable technology and products.

Putting their money where there mouth is, organizers are taking steps to make ROTHBURY a near zero-waste concert through a variety of initiatives including replacing disposables with 100% compostables, recycling and composting, choosing clean energy, carbon-offsetting, and Green Ticket options.

Tickets for ROTHBURY go on sale February 27th and start at around $250 for a weekend pass.

UPDATE (July 6, 2008): Phish fan? Read about Trey, Mike and Fishman at ROTHBURY including setlist, photos, and more.

Here's a great Hot Dog with all the trimmings from an October 2007 Tea Leaf Green show at the Georgia Theatre.

It starts with a cool Josh Clark solo experience followed by a musically standard run through the versus for the rest of the first half of the video, but the Beak is dancing circles and that's always worth a look.

And be sure to stick around for the second half of the video. It's a great jam that's part funk, part rock, part blues, and all meltage.

Kudos also to the killer lighting throughout.

This one makes a connection all right. With your face. And melts it good.

It's Tea Leaf Green closing out Make a Connection at The Stone Church in New Hampshire.

Though musically this one's mostly about Josh, there's some nice “Milky” action at the beginning and near the end.
