Here's a little one-two punch to end the second set of a 1996 Phish show at the Kiel Center in St. Louis.
Up first is Phish's only performance of Mean Mr. Mustard. It's a nice treat though I'm pretty sure no faces were melted during this tune. But facial safety was fleeting that night.
About a minute and a half in, as MMM is winding down, John Popper limps out from from stage left doing the Willy Wonka routine, complete with cape and cane.
Popper approaches the mic and the band starts ripping Weekapaug. I'm no harmonica expert, but I know a thing or two about face-melting, and this guy melts some serious faces as seen in this three and a half minute blowfest.
Watch through to the end for a great panoramic view of the crowd holding up lighters — and a small group of over-achieving fans using sparklers — to urge the encore.
