Heavy Things
Peter Jennings’ millennium broadcast of Phish at Big Cypress aired at around 3:30 am ET.
In an attempt to confuse viewers, Trey requested that instead of applause at the end of the song, the audience chant “cheesecake” over and over. The band referenced cheesecake throughout the duration of the show most notably during YEM where the vocal jam was infused with references to the decadent desert.
Trey introduced the band for the recorded footage and offered a message of peace and harmony for the world… “I want to send a message of peace and love in the 21st century, a simple message that will keep everyone happy. Please remember that the right lane is for traveling and the left lane is for passing. Stay in the right lane unless you are passing, and lets have some peace and harmony in the 21st century. Thank you.”
